Ladies and Gentlemen - May we present ...

Andrew Caleb Stonecipher

8lb 90z
21 inches

The Story: (because I know that you are just dying to know!) Just like another typical day in our lives. We woke up and headed to work, neither one of us planning that Friday would be "the day." Sarah had a busy day of patients at work. Sarah had started working with her first patient of the day - a person with bilateral knee replacements. Thirty minutes or so into the session, Sarah decided it would be a perfect time to bend those knees herself. And then, all of sudden, as she was squatting to bend on the knees, her water broke! Not the huge gushing break like in the movies, but definitely more than just a trinkle! Sarah then went and called Jonathan, who was busy at work, and said, "I think you need to come get me ... we are going to have a baby!" Everyone one at Sarah's work was so excited and thrilled that little Andrew was on the way. Her patient was even thrilled!

Labor and Delivery: Sarah had planned to go all natural with the whole labor. She required a pitocin drip to help induce labor. (her water had broken, but no contractions) She did great for a bit, but then she developed back labor (and it is VERY painful!) and opted to get an epidural to relieve the pain. Pitocin started at 11:00ish am. Epidural at 5:30ish pm. Fully dilated at 9:45pm and began pushing at 10:00pm. And Andrew Caleb Stonecipher was born at 10:30pm. Both Sarah and Andrew did great with the delivery!

All our bags are packed, we're ready to go...

We've made a list and we're checking it twice. We're gonna find out if we're ready or not, cuz Andrew Caleb is coming to town. The bed is made, the room is clean, the furniture done, what else can there be? The clothes are washed, the blankets too. We've got diapers and plenty of wipes - now all we need is our sweet little bundle of joy.

Any day now.... that is what we are thinking (Sarah is hoping for any second now). This month, and this week especially have been unbearably hot - especially if you are 8.5 months pregnant (or at least so I am told.) At our doctor's appointment last Monday, she had not begun to dialate nor efface yet. We have decided that we hope he is like his dad over the next couple of weeks and always in a hurry to get things done!! Well, that is about it for now, hopefully the next post could be a BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

16 Days and Counting

The final touches are being put on the baby room and the final stretches are being put on Sarah's belly. It is hard to imagine that Andrew's anticipated birthdate is now only 16 days away. We are busy readying his room - the furniture's done, the bed is made, the clothes are washed, his bag is packed, his name is on the wall - now we just hope he doesn't turn out to be Andrea. We would have put pictures of the room on here, but if you paid attention, I didn't say that the room was clean. Those pictures will follow soon hereafter. The picture of Sarah will probably be one of the last to be posted pregnant. Knowing our record, it will be a small miracle for us to get another post on with all we have to do in the next two weeks. We had our final shower today, and the list of things we need to get has dwindled to nearly nothing - except of course for our final few nights of unihibited sleep!
